It seems like I have always been interested in movies. Like many, when I saw Star Wars for the first time, I was hooked by the idea of taking people to places they have never been, and engaging in epic stories – especially through the medium of film. Tales of Robin Hood filled my childhood, and when Lord of the Rings came out I once again was filled with the desire to make movies again. My friend and I would bust out a camera and essentially record ourselves living out these adventures of fighting at Helms Deep or walking the forest of Lorien.
As time progressed I also developed a love for history and the art styles seen in movies by Ridley Scott. So when Assassin’s Creed was announced I of course fell in love. I got out there and made my own fan films. I loved coming up with the stories, the costume design, and sharing that with other. Seeing it come to life was a great joy and I did that all through college.
Unfortunately, we have to grow up at some point, get jobs, pay bills. And as times change so does our resources. With a cast and crew that had moved away or entered different seasons of life, so did the YouTube channel. Instead of making movies, it became more about reviews and creating costumes and armor. Hopefully becoming an inspiration for those who are looking to do the same. And that is where we are today. The love for stories has remained, but we want to encourage, entertain, and inspire you to follow your dreams as well.
I met Erik when I started my current job as a graphic designer for a manufacturing company situated in the midwest. He had been working there as a videographer for 3 years before I came on. Fast forward a few years, and we started dating. He proposed shortly after, and now we are very happily married.
Erik had of course been operating Libertas Video for some time. Now that we are married, I also am involved with Libertas. I help Erik out behind the scenes with graphic design, artistic thoughts and opinions, photography of his creations, the design of this website, and more. I also shoot all of the cosplay photography of Erik in his costumes and creations.
I have worked as a graphic designer for ten years in several different industries. All of my jobs have required photography to varying degrees. I have always been passionate about photography and I run a portrait photography business on the side. I love portrait photography, and so I love photographing Erik as different characters when he cosplays.
When I am not working as a designer or a photographer, I keep myself busy with creating artwork to sell online, painting with alcohol inks, shooting stock photography, running, or reading.
