I started the Bayek Left Gauntlet before the release of Assassin’s Creed Origins. At that point we did not have a final understanding of what the gauntlet was supposed to look like. So I took inspiration from the Cosplay Reference Guide Ubisoft put out, pre-order statues, and the cinematic CGI trailer. While these presented a good foundation, it does explain why the gauntlet never ended up looking completely “screen accurate” to what you see in the game.
It was made from tooling leather, a thinner leather, suede, brass sheeting, Chicago screw rivets, and various beads for Egyptian decoration. If you want to learn more about its construction, check out our 9-part YouTube series on the build. Or see it in on the full costume as part of our Bayek Desert Photo Shoot.
